| Pittsburgh Pirates PNC Park The Pirates moved into their new ballpark in 2001 for a total cost of $216 million, plus another $25 million for site acquisition and another $21 million or so for site preparation. This steel structure uses stone front and pilasters coupled with dramatic masonry arches and a home plate entryway, to create memories of Forbes Field. The archways lead to a public arcade, which are open year round, and features shops, restaurants, and the Pirates Hall of Fame. Next to Fenway Park, PNC Park, is the smallest in the majors with 38,127 seats. Seats behind home plate are only 50 feet from the batter's box. There is a picnic area for up to 300 fans which is on top of the right field stands. A Brew Pub is included in Left Field with a 500-person party deck on the roof which offers views of the field and of the city. If you choose to arrive by riverboat you will be greeted with live music from a riverfront stage. |
