New York Yankees/ Yankee Stadium

The House that Ruth built, Yankee Stadium has been the home for some of the best baseball players of the 20th century.  Players such as Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle,  Ron Guidry, and Reggie Jackson all called Yankee Stadium home.  Originally
opened on April 18, 1923 and reopened on April 15, 1976 after an extensive three year renovation. In the center there is a green curtain which is raised and lowered like a window shade to force visiting batters to face a background of white-shirted bleacher fans while allowing Yankees hitters to face a dark green background. Sometimes it is removed in World Series
play to sell more seats.
